The Dusty Halos band was formed in late 2022 when the established Dave Zych band added the powerful female vocals and Southern style of Andrea Esparza, and the hauntingly beautiful melodies of the steel guitar and fiddle played by Steve Bagsby. The blended variety of Country and Classic Rock appeals to a wider audience as it mixes the two genres seamlessly, keeping the crowd entertained all night.
Dave has a degree in music education and began his professional touring career with major gospel recording artists. Dave then graduated to performing with adult oriented pop artists such as Tennessee Ernie Ford, Phyllis Diller, Peter Noone and others. He has performed on stages with Mick Taylor, Charlie Rawls, Denise Lasalle and several other R&B artists. Dave received a degree in Organizational Leadership from Purdue University and became an executive at Fortune 500 corporations while building popular dance bands in the regions where he was domiciled. His primary focus is to entertain and keep patrons involved in the venues where he works as a musician. His musicianship experience ranges from Miranda Lambert to Led Zeppelin.
Jeff grew up surrounded by music. At a very early age he was playing piano and tinkering with objects that made sound. Throughout his early years he played in several progressive groups both on bass guitar and keyboard. In the late 80’s and 90’s he composed numerous musical soundscapes for television and his own unreleased albums. Jeff’s released albums in the Electronic/Ambient/New Age genre include Inner Sight – Feb 2016, The Indigo Sun Chronicles – Sep 2011, and Autumn Sky Passage – Dec 2010. Recent years to present Jeff has played bass guitar, keys and provided backing vocals with the Dave Zych Band, Big Joe Muse Band, and several other local band projects and studio recordings.
John has been a professional musician for over 50 years. Playing drums both in the recording studio and onstage, John has performed with artists such as Lightnin’ Hopkins, Eddie Money, Chaka Khan, Jon Davis, Eddie Vedder, Chris Cornell, Layne Staley and many more. Currently John enjoys his retirement from the professional touring stage by sharing his experience, running sound, and playing with and promoting local and regional talent.
Steve has been a professional musician in northeastern Oklahoma for over 40 years. He considers playing for the Tulsa Playboys to be a high honor. Bagsby has performed with the Texas Playboys, Hank Thompson, Roy Clark, Round Up Boys, Buckle Up Band, and many more. Steve has written and recorded several original songs. With his comedic sense of humor, he released the album Two Left Ears in 2021 along with his brother David Bagsby as The Bagsby Brothers. Steve has been inducted into the Western Swing Hall of Fame and is a much sought after musician in the Tulsa area.
Andrea has had a passion for music and singing since childhood. In 2007 she began to assist her Cowboy Church in leading the worship music on Sundays. She joined the Cowboy Girls Gospel singing group for a short while in 2009 and performed on horseback at various trail rides and Cowboy Church rodeo events, while continuing to serve on the praise and worship team at church. In 2021 Andrea joined Stormy and the Chasers and sang back-up vocals, before auditioning for and becoming the lead vocalist for the Bedrock Oklahoma Band. In 2022 the Dusty Halos Band was formed, with Andrea as the lead vocalist, and this band has been her primary focus ever since.
